Infrastructure & Environment

  • BNR Sewage Treatment Plant: Major upgrades resulting in over 90% odor elimination (odor control complete in 2026)
  • South City Drainage: Additional projects to help with drainage concerns (more to come)
  • Dirt Roads: Plan to pave all dirt roads in Wichita
  • Concrete Road Repairs: Additional $2 million to go to residential concrete road repairs (43% in district 3)
  • Tree Policy: Plant more trees through Parks and Recreation

Community Development

  • Clapp Park: All Access Playground, including equipment for children with disabilities
  • Planeview Center: Neighborhood/Recreation center for one of our most needy neighborhoods
  • Safe Routes to School: Comprehensive plan to build sidewalks/traffic crossings to ensure every child has a safe route to school
  • CID Development: SOCE and 47th and Broadway – First two Community Improvement Districts in South Wichita
  • Home Repair Funding: Small loans/grants to help maintain homes

Public Safety

  • First Responder Raises: Police and Fire raises that make them competitive to peer cities and help close the recruiting gap
  • Animal Control: 2 new animal control officers and 4 new kennel techs added to budget
  • ICT 2-5: Mental Health Units to be deployed in mental crisis
  • Violence Interrupters: Individuals who have lived the life working with kids to avoid same mistakes
  • Jensen Hughes: Implemented most reforms called for by Jensen Hughes report
  • CJ Loftin Task Force: Process reforms and mental health policies to ensure CJ Loftin case won't be forgotten

Healthcare & Mental Health

  • KU/WSU Biomed Center: Infrastructure and Land donations to build Biomedical Campus to address needs for health workers/social workers
  • One Rise Mental Health Hospital: Infrastructure donations to build Regional Mental Health Hospital
  • Opioid Settlement Funds: Collaborate with the county on allocation of settlement funds for gaps in services/education
  • Fentanyl Test Strips: Legalized Fentanyl Test Strips
  • Narcan: Funding for Narcan giveaways
  • D/V Addition to Child Advocacy Center: $2 million in improvements to Child Advocacy Center and additional studies to address DV

Social Services & Housing

  • MAC: City-funded homeless shelter with wrap around services and housing to be built on campus
  • Landlord Retaliation: Deter/Penalize landlords who evict due to tenant reporting violations
  • Slumlord Ordinance: Additional codes for tenant protection
  • MABCD: Increased funding to address emergency demolitions/illegal dumping
  • Corner Store Initiative: Opportunities for small corner markets to carry healthy fresh food in food deserts

Economic Development & Governance

  • Campaign Finance Reform: Eliminated LLC funding for municipal races (since repealed)
  • Incentive Reform: City won't take on debt for economic incentives
  • Property Tax Relief: Match state's Homestead/Disabled Veterans Tax Relief
  • Finch Settlement: Righting a wrong and taking accountability for mistakes of the past

Arts, Culture, and Recreation

  • Firefighter Memorial: Lincoln Park now designated State Firefighter Memorial, additional funding for improvements to memorial
  • C2 Funding: Over $18 million invested in repairing Century 2, including a new roof
  • Cowtown: Increased funding to Cowtown
  • Drive In: Worked out payment plan to ensure survival of Drive In
  • Golf: Kept Golf in city management, funded improvements

Criminal Justice Reform

  • Marijuana: Struck marijuana possession from city ordinances
